Collaborations:
It all begins with a dream.
My name is Christian Martinez, a community innovator originally from Michoacan, Mexico. In 1999, my family and I made the decision to migrate to Oakland, California in pursuit of a better life. Growing up in East Oakland, I witnessed firsthand the social and educational inequalities in my community, which inspired me to become an educator.
In 2011, I embarked on my journey as an educator and creative designer in East Oakland. I recognized the importance of education and the power of creativity in empowering individuals and communities. Through my work, I aimed to inspire and uplift those around me.
In 2017, I co-founded Latitude High & Noxhegalactica, two organizations aimed at fostering community growth and development. These projects were driven by the belief that it is crucial to amplify the voices of community members who often bear the brunt of societal challenges.
Throughout my career, I have actively sought collaborations with universities across the nation and non-profit organizations. These partnerships have allowed us to expand our reach and leverage resources to create meaningful change. By working together, we have been able to address various social issues and implement innovative solutions.
I am deeply committed to my role as a community innovator and strive to bring about positive transformations in the lives of those around me. By centering community voices and collaborating with diverse entities, I believe we can create a more equitable and inclusive society.
